Jody Cox

Jody has more than 20 years of experience in public affairs, primarily in the pharmaceutical and real estate sectors. She has extensive knowledge of Canada’s legislative process and the generic and biosimilar medicines industries.

For the past 12 years she has led the Canadian Generic Pharmaceutical Association’s federal, intellectual property and international trade files. She also coordinates the CGPA’s legal affairs activities, which has included several successful interventions in pharmaceutical patent matters at the Supreme Court of Canada.

Jody serves as Vice President of Biosimilars Canada, the division of CGPA that has represented the biosimilar medicines industry since January 2015. She currently leads Canadian biosimilar advocacy activities in the areas of market access, scientific regulatory affairs, legal affairs, and communications.

Jody has also been an active member of the International Generic and Biosimilar Medicines Association (IGBA) for many years, particularly with respect to the IGBA’s work in the areas of biosimilars, international trade and intellectual property. She was recently elected Chair of the IGBA’s International Trade and Intellectual Property Committee for 2020-21.
