Denise Siele

Denise Siele is a seasoned public affairs strategist with a breadth of experience in public policy, politics, tactical engagement and media. She has collaborated with a network of leaders and stakeholders across government levels, industry and civil society –domestic and international – the Prime Minister’s Office, the Office of the Governor-General, the Speaker of the House of Commons, and various Provincial Premiers’ Offices.

In 2004, she became Partner at Hill Solutions where she delivered for clients ranging from the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) to the Internet Society of Canada. Milestones include management of a major multi-disciplinary international conference for the University of Ottawa Law Faculty; Canada’s Digital Policy Forum summits with such partners as Google, Amazon, Intuit and Rogers; and collaboration with Global Affairs Canadato convene a dialogue with Deputy Ministers and international and Canada-based partners.

In 2016, she traveled extensively across Canada, engaging parliamentarians in every provincial and territorial legislature for Equal Voice’s historic Canada 150 “Daughters of the Vote”which brought 338 dynamic young delegates representing every political riding to the nation’s capital to literally take their seats in Parliament.

In the community, Denise Siele has served as president of the Canadian Club of Ottawa; director of theYouth Services Bureau Charitable Foundation; chair of Ottawa’s Fund for a New Generation; and founder of the Vivantefundraiser for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. She currently serves as a Director on the Algonquin College Foundation Board, and the Telus Ottawa Community Board.

Among awards, Denise Siele is a 2015 recipient of the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce Forty under 40 Award; 2015 Ottawa Life MagazineTop 25 People in the Capital; 2011 YWCA Women of Distinction AwardNominee; and recipient of the 2011 University of Ottawa Engagement, Empowerment and Success Award. In 2016 she was named one of the 100 Most Accomplished Black Canadian Women.

Denise is an alumnus of the Arthur Kroeger Public Affairs and Policy Management programme at Carleton University; and the USA State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program. She is regularly invited to share insights on television at CBC Power & Politics, CTV Ottawa; and on radio at CFRA 580 News, and CIWW 1310 News.
