Bill Casey MP (Cumberland-Colchester, NS) was born and raised in Amherst. He graduated from St. Francis Xavier University in 1967 with a degree in engineering, and went into business in Amherst with his wife Rosemary. Together they raised three children, and have lived in Amherst ever since.
As Chair of the Standing Committee on Health, Bill is responsible for chairing meetings of the Committee studying issues related to the programs of Health Canada and its agencies, and more broadly, health topics important to Canadians. The Committee reports to Parliament; the Committee does not make laws but may report to Parliament and recommend changes to the laws of Canada.
